About The Club
Today our club Jyoshinmon is one of the strongest martial arts schools in Estonia. We regularly train about 100 athletes in various age groups.
The main advantage of Jyoshinmon Shorin-ryu school is that students have the opportunity to learn a variety of martial arts: karate, kobudo (traditional Okinawan weapons), grappling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, hand-to-hand combat and the basics of self-defense.
There are practically no similar schools in Estonia and Tallinn. That is why we are the choice of those whose goal is to learn martial arts and become healthier, stronger and more resilient.
People come to Jyoshinmon with different goals and aspirations: some want their child to learn to stand up for themselves, some just want to be “in shape”, and some want to achieve significant success in competitions and championships, in which our students regularly take prizes and gain valuable experience.
JYOSHINMON Club regularly organizes sports training camps, camps and seminars. A camp is a course of intensive training aimed at preparing for an important tournament or belt exam. In addition to sporting events, the camp has a cultural and entertainment program. Leading instructors and masters are invited to seminars to help athletes reach the next level.
HE MAIN MISSION OF THE JYOSHINMON CLUB IS NOT ONLY TO TRAIN YOUNG ATHLETES IN MARTIAL ARTS, BUT ALSO TO FOSTER THE DESIRE FOR SELF-IMPROVEMENT, HEALTHY LIFESTYLE, DISCIPLINE AND SELF-CONFIDENCE.

1980
FOUNDATION OF THE CLUB
Karate began to spread actively around the world after its demonstration at the Tokyo Olympics in 1964. In Estonia, karate enthusiasts created a sports club “Otchizna” on the basis of the “Dinamo” sports section. It was a place to teach martial arts, hone skills, build physical strength and develop a sense of community among karate enthusiasts.

During the transformation, the club was renamed Jyoshinmon Shorinryu Karate-do Eesti Liit. Jyoshinmon refers to “new” styles of karate. The creator of the Jyoshinmon Shorinryu Karate-do style, Ikeda Hoshu, defined it as “Modern Karate of the old style”. The Jyoshinmon School encompasses both the fighting and competitive sides, as well as the educational and recreational side.
2002
member of Estonian Karate Federation (EKF)
Since 2002 the sports club has been a member of the Estonian Karate Federation (EKF). Jyoshinmon Shorinryu athletes show excellent results, winning medals and titles of Estonian champions.
2008
WAKO MEMBERSHIP
An important event of 2008 was the entry of Jyoshinmon club into the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO). Our kickboxers in the Estonian national team take prizes at international championships.

Estonia's best karate club
Our club achieved the prestigious title of Estonia’s Best Karate Club. This recognition underscores our unwavering dedication to excellence in martial arts, reflecting the hard work and commitment of our members and instructors.

Jyoshinmon’s professional and friendly trainers combine experience and expertise with a personalized approach. Each student feels supported and motivated at all stages of their martial arts journey.
Often at the initial stage a young athlete cannot decide which martial art to choose. JYOSHINMON students learn the basics of different martial arts for both stand-up fighting (kumite or kickboxing) and portering (grappling). There is also a strong emphasis on learning kata. This gives them a solid foundation to follow their vocation in the future.
Martial arts classes are available to everyone, regardless of gender, age or fitness. For children and beginners, it is a great opportunity to develop coordination, strengthen the body, improve self-esteem and self-confidence.
Martial arts undoubtedly require physical strength, but they also improve thought processes, much like chess, forcing you to calculate your opponent’s actions ahead of time and be able to take a wait-and-see attitude without throwing yourself headlong into the fray.
Martial arts training toughens the body, making it fit, athletic and flexible. Regular exercise develops muscles, improves heart and lung function, and optimizes the circulatory system. This allows you to build up speed and strength endurance, which is very important in fights.

At training sessions, our experienced coaches teach athletes basic acrobatics (somersaults, rolls, etc.), general physical training (push-ups, abs, squats, etc.), special physical training and directly martial arts techniques.
